LUFKIN - Services for Clyde Vernon Boles, 87, Lufkin, was scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Gipson Funeral Home, Lufkin, with the Rev. Dr. John Greene and the Rev. Jacqueline Snarr officiating.

Burial will be in Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Boles died March 4, 2007, in Florida.

He was born July 27, 1919, in Humble to Earl C. and Birdie Lee West Boles. He worked as a coremaker for Texas Foundry, retiring after 39 years of service. He had resided in Lufkin more than 50 years, served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater, Normandy, Luxemburg, Holland, Belgium and Germany, receiving the American Theater Campaign Medal with five bronze stars. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brooksie Nell Barley Boles.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Boles, Lufkin; son, Robert Earl Boles, Lufkin; daughter, Pamela Inman, Lufkin; sister, Mildred Carridine, Lufkin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Chad Lee, Marshall Inman, Morgan Inman, Cody Inman, Robert Boles II and Hayden Barley.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Barley and Stevan Barley.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
