After the death of her husband in 1976, Emily lived with her daughter Cindy and Son-in-law Larry. In 2012, Emily moved in with her daughter Georgia in Encinitas, CA, and lived with her for five years. While Georgia was in the process of moving them to Boise, Idaho, Emily lived with her daughter Carol and Son-in-law Luke in Las Vegas. Emily died of cancer of the stomach lining in Las Vegas. She was entombed with her husband in San Diego. Emily considered Larry and Luke as her sons and was quick to tell anyone who called them sons in laws that they were sons to her!
