Bertha Ann Arnold, 83, of 655 West Wharton St. Roseburg, died Friday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Arnold was born May 1, 1881, at Chanute, Kan. She had lived in the Roseburg area for the past 12 years, coming here from Grants Pass. She was married to William Arnold at Walla Walla, Wash., Jun. 30, 1923. She was a member of the Westside Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. James (Eva) Huston, Lakeview; one son, Elmer Brown, Coquille; seven grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. One son, Ray Brown, preceded Mrs. Arnold in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Smith of the Westside Christian Church officiating. Private concluding services and interment will follow at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.

Christened Annie Rebecca Walters. Bertha changed her name. Bertha is the daughter of Samuel & Margaret (Bichard) Richard Walters.

She married Charley Brown in Solomon, KS. After Charley died she married William Arnold January 30, 1923 in Walla Walla, WA.
