He died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002.
He was born Nov. 1, 1901, in Indian Territory, Okla. He married Lorella Brownfield on Jan. 8, 1926, in Brownfield. She died July 25, 1993. He moved to Terry County in 1924. He was a pharmacist and partner in Palace Drug in Brownfield.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brownfield, where he served as a deacon and treasurer, and a member of the Rotary Club and the Masons.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Wilgus of Dallas; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to XYZ Club, 101 S. D St., Brownfield, TX 79316 or to Terry County Heritage Museum, 600 E. Cardwell, Brownfield, TX 79316.
