Bess J. Barbee, 98, of Auburn died Monday at Parks Memorial Convalescent Center in Auburn. She was born June 4, 1896, in Clarksburg, the daughter of Charles A. and Myrtilla M. Todd Ward. She married Gus Epley, who proceeded he in death. She married Duncan Barbee in 1951. He also proceeded her in death. Mrs. Barbee was a home maker and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors: three grandchildren; five great-grand children; a brother Paul T. Ward of Englewood, Fla.; and a sister, Katherine Ruth Rosborough of Chicago. Remains were cremated. Private burial of ashes in Auburn Cemetery at a later date. Berry Funeral Home in Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
