Ada M. Ader was a student at N.C. State Normal (Now UNC-G) when a typhoid fever epidemic developed among the students due to a contaminated water supply in late 1899. She became ill and died in December. Her older sister Ida, went to the school to help nurse her and also developed typhoid fever and died later.
