Mary Parker Piephoff Chapman, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2005 in Atlanta. She is predeceased by her husband, A.B. Chapman Jr. Mary Chapman was born May 31, 1904 in Spartenburg, SC. Her parents died young so Mary spent her teen years at Connie Maxwell Orphanage. She graduated with a BA from Greenville Women's College, now Furman University. She received her Masters from the YMCA Graduate School in Nashville. She worked in the Alumni office of Agnes Scott College and taught in DeKalb County schools. Her children are A. Byron Chapman III and his wife Elizabeth and James P. Chapman and his wife Maryann of Atlanta. Her grandchildren are Chris Chapman and Anthony Chapman from N.Y. and Emily Chapman Wilkinson and her husband Edward and James Bass Chapman and his wife Katherine, all from Atlanta. The great grandchildren are Taylor, Chapman and K.P. Wilkinson of Atlanta. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 22 at 2:00 PM in Dacatur City Cemetery with nephew Rev. Robert Piephoff, Rev. Parke Renshaw and Rev. Maryann Chapman presiding. Family and friends may visit the family from 11-12:30 Tuesday at son Jim Chapman's home. Contributions may be made to Decatur DeKalb YMCA and Connie Maxwell Children's Home in Greenwood, SC in her memory. Arrangements by H.M.
