Linda L. McGee-Werner, formerly of Helena, passed away Dec. 9, 2007, after a battle with cancer in Sun City West, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry L. McGee; mother, Lillian B. McGee; and a stepbrother, Mickey McGee.

Linda is survived by her husband, Otto Werner of Sun City West; daughter, Christy King-Dietrich of East Helena; two grandsons, Chance and Kase of East Helena; a brother, Harry L. McGee II of Marysville; niece, Falicia McGee of Marysville; and aunt, Viola Liepzig of Shingle Springs, Calif. Linda has many cousins in Helena, including her two closest, Ellen Wong-Guy and Diane Macaraeg-Langenfus.

Linda was born in Helena on May 21, 1947. She attended schools here and graduated from Helena High School in 1965.

She worked for her aunt and uncle at the House of Wong through high school and at the Sweetheart Bakery until she moved to California where she managed a chain of restaurants.

She married Otto Werner on June 9, 1984, and lived in California until they moved back to Helena in 1991.

A talented artist, Linda taught painting classes in acrylic and water color. She owned Auntie Bear Arts and Crafts and sold her work in Montana, California and Oregon.

Linda was a strong person and faced everything head on. Linda's organization held the families memories together from the past generations to the present. She will be sadly missed for those efforts and keeping the present families united. She was the heart of her family and extended families.

She volunteered for such organizations as the Kay McKenna foundation, St. Peter's Hospital Foundation and Sun Healthcare in Sun City, donating her artistic talent and organizational skills.

Linda and her husband, Otto, moved to Sun City West to retire. The family would prefer donations in Linda's name to the Helena Humane Society.

A service for family and friends are to follow.
