Mr. George "Gene" Aday, 77, Muscle Shoals, Ala., died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Medical Center Shoals Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, March 6, 1999, 6-9 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home, Sheffield. The funeral will be Sunday, March 7, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Spry chapel, with burial in Shaw Cemetery. Officiating at the funeral will be Riley Turner and Albert Hill. He was a native of Colbert County, Ala. He is survived by his wife Eltise Aday of Nitrate City; son Marshall Aday of Florence; daughters Elaine Aday of Nitrate City, Patricia Pate of Killen, Marilyn Thornton of Killen; daughter-in-law Elora Aday of Florence; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by daughters Mavanell and Sue Aday. Pallbearers will include Ernest Lee Aday, Sam Aday, Lyn Pruitt, Gary Ledlow, Jamie Barnett, Freddie Colbert. He was a member of East Colbert Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of D.A.V.
