Jimmy Joe Griego, age 73, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017.
Jimmy was born in Socorro, NM on July 26,1944 to Manuel and Eugenia (Baca) Griego.
Jimmy graduated from Socorro High School and remained a life long resident. Jimmy worked at Tera Site in construction and then went on to do maintenance for Motel 6 for twelve years. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his free time he continued his passion in carpentry work.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Willie Griego and Manuel Griego Jr. and granddaughter, Lailah Jean Rank.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Bernajean Griego and Patricia Lucero, grandchildren, Luís Lucero, Randall Lucero and Isabella Lucero, great-grandchildren, Marinela DeLeon, Elijah DeLeon, Junior Camacho, Carlos Lucero, Estevan Lucero and Luís Lucero Jr., brother, Tony Griego, and sisters, Terry (Connie) Peralta and Marian (Sid) Ornelas.
Rosary to be recited on August 19, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM with The Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10:00 a.m. Celebrant is Father John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following the service.
