Mrs Cockman Succumbs to Hemorrhage
Mrs Edna Florence Cockman, 57, of 13 Navajo Place, Poland, wife of Fred W Cockman, a printer with the Youngstown Vindicator, died at 1 pm Sunday in the 225th US Army Station Hospital in Germany, following a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday, her brother, Robert Garwood, was notified by cable today.
Mrs Cockman and he husband had left Sept 14, for a trip to Europe and a visit with their son, Frederick L Cockman, and his family in Germany. Their son had been in Europe for two and a half years and is stationed with the US Air Force near Kaiseraiautern. The Cockmans had joined the family and wrote back about their joy in seeing the grandchildren.
Mrs Cockman was born in Youngstown January 1909, a daughter of Robert Daniel and Edith Winters Garwood, attended schools here and was active in several clubs in Poland. She as a member of St James Episcopal Church and the Woman of St James, serving various times as secretary and treasurer.
Besides her husband and her son, Mrs Cockman leaves her brother, Robert in Youngstown, a sister Mrs Sherman Wolf of St Petersburg, Fla, and three grandchildren.
