Added May 2022: In Jan of 1900, Oscar Hampton accepted a job on the Illinois Central railroad crew. He moved his family from Pinckneyville back to DuBois, ILL. On May 17, Oscar received sever injuries, where the boiler on a locomotive exploded. Several received injuries, killing others. On May 24, Oscar passed away at is home in DuBois, surrounded by his family and friends. Burial was in Kuhn Cemetery.
