Brent Bateman, 51, of the Mt. Pleasant community near Gloster, Mississippi, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017. Brent was born March 31, 1966, the son of the late Curtis Linus Bateman and Doll Lynell Bateman. He worked as a land surveyor with Evans and Graves Engineering in Baton Rouge, La.
Brent is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 30 years, Kim Bateman; his son Brandon Bateman and wife Elizabeth; two brothers, Jeffery “Scooter” Bateman and wife Jennifer; and William “Bill” Bateman and wife Lisa; two grandchildren Ella and Emma; six nieces and seven nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Linus Bateman and Doll Bateman.
Visitation is Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Also visitation Monday, from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 10:00 A.M. Monday, at the church, officiated by Rev. Blaine Stafford. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dustin Temple, Trevor Bateman, Keith Steele, Jason Steele, Ken Cupit, and Sammy Kirkland.
