Darold Dietz was born April 20, 1928, in Davenport, the son of Riley and Velma (Pahl) Dietz Sr. He graduated from Davenport Central High School. He was employed with Economy Roofing in Bettendorf, until his retirement. He was a member of the Walcott American Legion Post# 548, and the Davenport Moose Lodge. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends from the Quarry.
He is survived by three sons, Mark (Emma) of Houston, TX, Michael (Rebecca) Dietz of O'Fallon, IL, and Charles (Kimberly) Dietz of Iowa City; one daughter-in-law, Toni Dietz of Davenport; three grandchildren, Colton, Misty Dawn and Vanessa; one sister, Helen Muhs of Eldridge; and one nephew, John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rick Dietz, one sister, Edith Harksen and two brothers, Emmett and Riley Dietz Jr.
