Donald Lee McCuddy was born on November 5, 1930 to Glen McCuddy and Florence Simpson in Luther, Oklahoma. Donald passed away in his home on August 10, 2017.

Most of his young life was spent working the family farm near Luther. He graduated from Luther High School in May 1948. In June of 1948 he left for Albuquerque, New Mexico to work underground construction. He worked there until June of 1949 when he returned to Oklahoma to work on Tenkiller Dam North of Gore, Oklahoma. It was during this time he met the love of his life, his wife Patricia at Warren, Oklahoma. He and Patricia married in December 1949. This union produced 4 children, Kenneth, Patty, JoAnn and Johnny, and he and Patricia also adopted and raised one grandchild, Cheryl. These 5 children became his passion and promoted the legacy that he leaves to each and all of us. A legacy of hard work, dedication, faithfulness, and a family love that lives on in each and every member of this large family.

During his working career Donald built roads, worked at remanufactoring auto parts, farmed, traveled the eastern U.S. as a company representative and troubleshooter for Fred Jone Remanufactoring company. He later owned and operated businesses including an OTASCO store, a Marine dealership, and in 1964 purchased Little Glasses Resort at Lake Texoma in southeast Oklahoma. He was a blue collar country boy with his work ethics, yet an executive entrepreneur with his business skills and business sense. For over 60 years Donald and Patricia had a friendship with Joe and Fern Barnes and this friendship has grown into an extended family. Joe and Fern quickly became Uncle Joe and Aunt Fern and as Donald once said, the family has grown by two more wonderful folks. That friendship continues today and has now become simply family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his son Kenneth, his daughter JoAnn, his mother and father, his brother Paul, his sister Norma Jean, and son-in-law William Ray.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Patty Ray, his son Johnny McCuddy, his brother Mike and his wife, Vicky, his grandchild Cheryl and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City. Interment is scheduled at 3:00pm that same day at Woodbury Forest Cemetery in Madill, Oklahoma.
