Mr. Benjamin Ball, one of our old citizens, who has been confined to the house for nearly two months, died Tuesday evening. Mr. Ball was a native of Strasburg, Germany, but had been a resident of Fredericksburg for about forty years, and had been engaged in business on Commerce Street for a number of years. He was in the 69th year of his age, and leaves a wife and six grown children. His funeral took place from his residence on Main Street yesterday evening, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. Dr. Canter, of the Methodist Church, and the following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Mayor A. P. Rowe, D. E. Fleming, H. Millhouser, Henry Wissner, F. Brulle, and V. E. Fleming.
