Douglas Warren “Doug” Folweiler, 57, husband of Susan Virginia (Rexrode) Folweiler of 924 Springhill Road passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Folweiler was born on December 14, 1959 in Staunton, a son of Donald Lee Folweiler and the late Elizabeth Jean (Grove) Folweiler.
As a child, Doug grew up in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was a mechanic by trade with Target Distribution Center. He enjoyed antiquing, gardening, camping, and fishing.
In addition to his wife of 29 years and his father, Doug is survived by his step-mother, Doris Folweiler of North Port, Florida; mother-in-law, Thelma F. Rexrode of Staunton; step-son, Matthew Moran of Waynesboro; step-daughter, Tara A. Moran of Staunton; three granddaughters, Alizia B. McNeal, Meredith Sprouse and Megan Sprouse; two great-grandsons, Oliver James Campbell and Owen Mathew Webb; a brother, Christian Lee “Chris” Folweiler and his wife Debbie; a sister-in-law, Barrie Rexrode; and a nephew, Ryan Folweiler also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Debbie Folweiler, 170 Bellview Street, Staunton.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro by Pastor T. Bryson Smith.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the A.S.P.C.A., 424 East 92nd Street, New York, New York 10128-6804.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
