Cecil lived for four months, his sister twin died at birth. Cecil was known as the incubator baby. He weighed four pounds at birth. His middle name was taken from the Lindsey chocolate box that served as his first cradle.

Cecil contracted measles, and died a few days after, at his grandmother's home. He was buried on May 4, 1910, next to his mother, who passed away from heart trouble six weeks prior, at Calvary Cemetery.
