Funeral services for Roberta Smith will be held Monday, January 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah. Roberta Smith was born March 3, 1937 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Enoch and Ora Ellen (Bynum) Smith. She passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Del City, Oklahoma at the age of 73. Roberta had been a longtime resident of the Okemah area and also a resident of Fort Worth, Texas for more that 15 years. Roberta was a devoted homemaker who loved working with her flower beds. She also enjoyed watching Pastor Murray on television, reading the Bible and especially traveling to visit family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands, William Backus and Billy Underwood. She is also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her four sons, Terry Smith of Fort Worth, Texas,Bill Backus of Okemah, Billy Underwood of Washington, Pennsylvania and Kerry Underwood of Dallas, Texas; she is also survived by her five daughters, Deborah Underwood of Ft. Worth, Mary Underwood of Dallas, Bonnie Riggs of Greeley, Colorado, Tammy Roberts of Okemah and Sherry Underwood of Tulsa; one sister, Pearl Hill of Okemah; 48 grandchildren, more than
50 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Bro. Chance Underwood.
