She was born in Boston on August 19, 1932, to Albanian parents Constantina (née Anastas) and Louis Athanas. Tefta married her husband William Allan Gillcrist on February 7, 1953. She was a loving wife, aunt, mother to five children, grandmother to 14, great-grandmother to 14, and a great-great-grandmother to one. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings Arthur, James, Salvatore, Olga Rapo, George, Margaret Alexion, Andrew, Paul; and her granddaughter Rebecka Drieth.
Survived by daughters Rose (late Terrence T.) Janas, Kathleen (Steven) Schmidt, Patricia (George A.) Saenz; sons William Jr. (Cecille), Louis (Mary Jo) and former daughter-in-law Bonnie Lynn Gillcrist; grandchildren Terrence B. (Jacqueline) Janas, Jonathan (Stephanie) Janas, Emily (Wesley) Bily, Kathleen Schmidt, Karen (David) Wilson, Steven Schmidt Jr., George M. Saenz, Andrew (fiancée Patricia Dalinis) Saenz, William (Tammy) Gillcrist III, Robert (Nicki) Gillcrist, Jennifer (Joseph) Carlson, Sarah Gillcrist, Rachel Gillcrist. Tefta had a long career at Illinois Tool Works. After her retirement, she volunteered at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital for many years.
