LaDonna (Webb) Allen 87, was born in Colo, Iowa on June 14, 1930 to Wilbur and Avalee Webb. She met the love of her life, Bill Allen, when they were very young. They were married on January 19, 1951.

She graduated from Nevada High School, attended Simpson College, and was a lifelong learner, reading every newspaper, magazine and book she came across. At least as evidenced by the pile of reading beside her favorite chair!
Family, friends, and community were her life and love. She had a career serving others, ultimately leading to a successful career in the real estate industry and working closely with many Ames and area realtors. LaDonna spent much of her life helping find just the right home for many, many clients, who also became friends of hers. She loved real estate and construction and helping people.

LaDonna served on the Mary Greeley Hospital Board of Trustees, the Mary Greeley Hospital Auxiliary, the Ames Board of Realtors, and the board of Alpha Chi Omega. She was a long time member of the Ames Golf and Country Club, PEO Chapter HN, Questors, and.....

She loved traveling with Bill, attending Iowa State athletic events, and she never said "No" to an invitation to a social event...all shared with family and friends.

Among all those great life accomplishments, her greatest joy came from her time spent with family including son Mark, daughter Kris Scheppler (John), grandchildren Pat Allen (Krista), Cari Drummond (David), Kelley Scheppler (Ryan), Morgan Johnston (Drew), Jack Scheppler, and great-grandchildren Raeanne, Avery, Wyatt, Miles, and Auden. She is also survived by Cheryl Junkmann (Don) and Richard Webb (Phyllis).

Friends and family wishing to make memorial gifts are invited to contribute to the Alzheimer's Association, the Mary Greeley Hospital Foundation, and/or Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Services will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1416 20th Street Ames, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017. Visitation will be held at Grandon Funeral & Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way Ames, with the family present on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. All are welcome to come and visit.
