Brad L. Asay, age 66, retired police officer and real estate agent, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 4, 2017.

Keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Brad Asay, age 66, Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Aug 5, 2017, at Garden View Care Center, Shenandoah, Iowa, after an extended illness.

Rites of Cremation will be afforded at Hoy-Kilnaski Mortuary, Council Bluffs, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Brad was born August 13, 1950, in Davenport. He was a graduate of Bettendorf High School and Northeast Missouri State University with degrees in law enforcement.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Asay Sr. and Marietta Asay.

Survivors include brother, Kenneth Asay Jr. (Sue), Bettendorf, and sister, Marlene McCulloch (Tom), Milan.

Brad L. Asay, age 66, of Council BLuffs, passed away on August 5, 2017, in Shenandoah, Iowa.

He was born August 13, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, to Kenneth, Dr. and Marietta Asay.

Brad joined the Council Bluffs Police Department in 1973, and was forced to retire on disability in 1989, with the rank of Sergeant. He then served as board member and President of United Credit Union in Council Bluffs. He was a sales associate for Iowa Clothes and after obtaining his Realtor license, he worked for NP Dodge from 1998 to 2009. He had a longtime association with the Fish and Game Club, the Elks and the Masons.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth, Jr. (Sue); sister, Marlene McCulloch (Thomas); nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to staffs at Jennie Edmundson, Hillcrest Health and Rehab, Bethany Nursing and Rehab, Select Specialty as well as his many friends, especially Eric and Amanda Stevens for their loving care during Brand's extended illness.

A celebration of Brad's life will be held Friday September 8, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral H.
