Mrs. Naomi Franklin Neville died peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the age of 102, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Neville had been a resident of The Gardens at Southern Manor for the past five months. She was born March 6, 1915, in Excelsior, GA, daughter of Benjamin and Ida Franklin and was a graduate of Pulaski High School.
Mrs. Neville was a member of Union Baptist Church for 67 years. She loved her family, community and country and voted in every election. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, golf, playing cards. She will always be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor and childhood stories.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Sam M. Neville, Sr., 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mrs. Neville is survived by her daughter Martha Anne Reynolds and husband, Bob, of Charlotte, NC, and her son Sam M. Neville, Jr., and wife, Lynn of Register. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and spouses: R. Neville Reynolds, Amy Reynolds Loughran, Holly Reynolds Ackerman, Matthew J. Reynolds, Simon M. Neville, Connie Neville Palfy, and Kathy Neville Bryant. She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am until the funeral hour at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Harold Smith officiating, assisted by Rev. Gene Currin.
Interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Neville Reynolds, Simon Neville, Robert Ackerman, Chris Loughran, Scott Bryant and Tom Palfy.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531 Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
