Suffolk - George Alexander Baker, 86, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was the son of the late George and Florence Baker. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Janie Kilpatrick Baker; and a brother, Clarence H. Baker. He retired as an electrician for Virginia Power with 40 years of service, was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #418, was the longest member of the Portsmouth Y.M.C.A., an avid Notre Dame sports fan, and a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017, in St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High Street, Portsmouth, VA, with burial to follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery with military honors. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at B. W. Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High Street, Portsmouth, VA.
