John W. Glenn, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 17, 2017, to Fred Glenn and Martha Mae Hockaday in Gilliam, Missouri.
John married Lhie Nio The, who survives of the home, on October 16, 1999.
He served for two years in the U.S. Army, where he was a Darby Ranger and a blacksmith for the Railway Battalion. He was a master millwright who worked in blacksmithing and mechanics. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. John was affiliated with the Lost Arts of Columbia, Missouri.
He enjoyed blacksmithing, collecting various treasures, and visits from his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Calvin Glenn; children, Shirley, Sharon, and Karen Glenn; and grandson, Keegan Glenn.
Survivors include his wife; siblings, Dorothy Marshall and Melvin Glenn; children, Peggy Sue Hager, Kathy Moore (David), Johnna Howat (Joe), William Glenn, Helen Glenn, and John Glenn (Deana); eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Farewell Graveside Services and Interment 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
