He graduated from Marion High School, attended Olivet Nazarene College and had been a long-time resident of the Grant County community. His career centered around the life insurance industry–primarily Indianapolis Life Insurance Company. The Marion agency was established by his father many years before.
Now retired, Bob was a member of Lakeview Christian Church. He was also a former member of the Christian Businessmen’s Association and the Marion Kiwanis Club. Bob enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, sports and in particular loved to watch IU Hoosier basketball.
Bob is survived by his children, Pamela S. (Stephen) Wilson, Marion, Indiana; Karen J (Brian) Maine, St. Charles, Missouri; Sherlyn K. Hurley, Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Sharon K. (David) Weise; brother-in-law, John Smith, Marion, Indiana; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 5316 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana, from 2-4 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017, followed by a Memorial Service at 4 PM.
