Rudolph Enok "Rudy" Aasted
Rudolph "Rudy" Enok Aasted of Springfield passed away on July 28, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born January 26, 1933 to Fredrick A. and Marie K. Nielsen Aasted in Junction City, Oregon. After high school Rudy worked for Lane County and drove truck before joining the service. Rudy enlisted in the Army on February 12, 1953 and served his country until January 8, 1955. Rudy worked for Pitchford Mack in Eugene as a diesel truck mechanic before moving to Prineville and worked for Barr Groff Tucking from 1978 until 1990 when his next adventure took him to Portland, OR. In 1991 Rudy started working at Walsh Trucking in Troutdale until retirement. Rudy loved to travel so much that he has visited 48 states. He also loved to play card games.
Rudolph and Deanna Borst were married in 1993.
Rudy is survived by sons: Neil (Robin) of Newport, OR; Ron (Lynne) of Springfield and Dale (Dannie) of Salem, Or; daughter Cyndy of New York; step-daughters Cindy (Dave) Cholewinski of Springfield, OR.; Danette (Craig) Overall of Prineville, OR.; Laura (Chuck) Denley, Powell Butte, OR.; Karen (Bill) Aguinaga of Tigard, OR.; step-son Steve Malone of Cascade Locks, OR. Rudy is survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rudolph was preceded in death by a son Gary.
Memorial Services will be held on August 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Springfield Elks Lodge #2145, 1701 Centennial Boulevard; Springfield, Oregon 97477. Interment was at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
Services are in care of Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.
