Plantersville – Mrs. Betty Ann Bell Bucy, 86, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Starkville, MS on September 16, 1930 to John Rosseau Bell and Bessie Kate Nickels Bell. She married Mr. Charles Bucy, Jr. of Plantersville in 1957 and has enjoyed being a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and sewing. Betty was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Plantersville, MS.
A celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Danny Balint officiating and Bro. Joe Thompson assisting. Private burial will follow in Plantersville Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to service time.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Charlie Bucy of Plantersville; son, John Bucy of Plantersville; 4 daughters, Mary Arnold and Cynthia Bucy, both of Plantersville, Cecelia Widner of Huntsville, AL, and Katherine Cason of Plantersville; 8 grandchildren, Keith Anderson, Steve Anderson, Jay Arnold, Stacey Sithole, Luke Lemire, Nigel Widner, Derrett Cason, and Damien Cason; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Will Bucy.
