Joan M. Malone, 75 of Chardon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Blossom Health Care.
She was born May 4, 1942 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Gordon and Jean (Carpenter) Petrik. She was a graduate of Burton High School and married Daniel T. Malone of Burton, August 1, 1964. He passed away in 2013. This would have been their 53rd Anniversary. “They are together again”. Joan was in administration for Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, A.S. M. in Newbury, and at Huntington Bank in Burton. She enjoyed life; was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chardon and loved going to church and playing cards with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Joan is survived by four children, Daniel (Joni) of Madison, Jeffrey (Stacie) of Chardon, Joseph (Sharon) of Chardon, and Angela (Dave) Toaddy of Chardon; ten grandchildren, Hannah (Mark) Kenyon, Jenna, Lauren, Allison (Eric Schneider) Malone, Jordan, Ashlea, Morgan, Nicholas, Beth Geil, Shawana (Rick) Myers; four great grandchildren, Anthony, Alex, Cole (Allison), and Anderson (Ashlea); two brothers, Jamey (Gwen) Petrik and David (Ruth) Petrik. Her husband Daniel; and her parents Gordon and Jean Petrik precede Joan in death.
Calling hours will be 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North St., Chardon, OH 44024. “Please meet at the Church”.
Burial will follow at Claridon Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions suggested to Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
