His siblings were William Rufus, Eliza Jane (Ward), Henry Parish, Sarah Matilda Mattie (Howard), Lewis (Louis) W., Major Littleton, John L. Jones. Stephen Alfred Jones answered the call of duty and enlisted in the 39th NC Infantry Co. D on February 28, 1862. At war's end he married Rachael Maria Hembree. At least 7 children were born of this union: Issac Monroe., William Benjamin, Oscar Leonidas, Cordelia Corrie Agnes (Dickson), Mary D., Sue Ann Trowbridge (Spencer), & Major Nesbitt Jones. They resided in the town of Piedmont, SC.
