George Edward Strickland "Pop" passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Wheatland Baptist Church in Wheatland, Richard Garrett officiating. George was born in Rotan on May 25, 1926, to George Alva and Golda Culbertson Strickland. He served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 15, 1944, to May 30, 1964. He was preceded in death by a son, George Strickland Jr.; and sister, Olene Hicks.
