Irene V. Brozowski of Wilkes-Barre passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Little Flower Manor Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.

Born Feb. 7, 1920, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Coskey Koterba.

Irene attended GAR Memorial High School and was employed by Penn State Belt and Buckle and Prestige Shoe Factory.

She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish and its Confraternity of Christian Women.

She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and trips to Atlantic City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, George Coskey; husband, Stanley, in 1988; son, Robert; brothers, Bernard, Edward and Joseph; and sister, Sister Juanita Koterba, OSF.

Surviving are her son, Michael and his wife, Judith, Troy; daughter, Mary Catherine Markovich and her husband, Simon, Clifton, Va.; daughter-in-law, Marsha Brozowski, Plains Twp.; grandchildren, Scott, Sharon, Joseph and Nicholas Brozowski, Justin and David Markovich, Celia Blannett, Georgeann Mann and Marie Conahan; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Theresa Urban, Wilkes-Barre; Marion Koviack, Tennessee; and Sister Charlotte Koterba, OSF, Reading.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. John S. Terry, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
