Elmer E. Wian August 11, 1926 July 23, 2017 Elmer E. Wian, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on August 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Earl L. and Ida L. (Adams) Wion. He was the assistant manager at GC Murphy. He also served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He is survived by his special niece, whom he raised, Sandra Steiner and her husband, Buddy, of Morrisdale; and numerous other nieces and nephews; one brother, Gene Wian, of Bellefonte; and one sister, Janice Poorman, of Bellefonte. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters: Betty, Emma, Anna, and Thelma; and three brothers: Glenn, James, and Cyrus. He was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church. Elmer was also a member of the VFW in Bellefonte. Friends will be received on Saturday, August 5, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Leroy Wion officiating. Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery.
