Sarah Francis "Buddie" Floyd was born July 31, 1931 in Rockwood, Tennessee, the daughter of Elmer Lonzo Adcox (1905–1972) and Lela (Long) Adcox (1908–1998).
She was married to US Air Force veteran Norman Dewitt Floyd (1931–2008), the son of Samuel Fulton Floyd (1909–1989) and his wife Edna Mae (Grainger) Floyd (1912–1987).
A longtime employee of Vanderbilt Hospital, Buddie had an appreciation for Southern food and spending valuable time with her extended family, and she was always one to greet you with a smile.
Splitting her residence between Nashville, Tennessee and Loris, South Carolina, she was almost 86 years old and in Nashville when she passed away on July 29, 2017.
Buddie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Harold Adcox, James Adcox and Robert Adcox, sisters Janice (Adcox) Ezell, Shirley (Adcox) Lawson and Betty Jane (Adcox) Moore and by her great-grandson Abram Brown. Survivors included three daughters, two brothers, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Committal Services and burial were in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Nashville. Celebration of Life Services were later held at Saturn Drive Baptist Church in Nashville.
