Nothing was more important to her than her God and her family. She served both with everything she had. She was the oldest living charter member of Southwest PFWB Church where she served as a trustee, church clerk and adult Sunday School teacher for many years. She and her husband, Clarence, founded Deep Run Child Care Center twenty- three years ago as a way to foster her love for her grandchildren and the children in the community. Throughout her life she ministered to many children by picking them up and taking them to church. She would drive through the neighborhoods of Pink Hill and Deep Run to find children in need and help get them enrolled in Pre-K where they would receive healthy meals and a high quality education. She has touched thousands of lives during her lifetime. She was the true example of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
