Our Beautiful Princess and Shining Star Kathryn Elizabeth Gardia Aug. 12, 1988- Feb. 25, 2007 The young life of our Kathryn was claimed by Heaven as the result of a tragic car accident of which she was the sole passenger and the driver survived. Kathryn attended St. Pancratius Elementary School and St. Joseph's High School, both in Lakewood, CA. She was a member of the National Honors Society and the Varsity Song Team and was Senior Homecoming Princess. Kathryn graduated with honors with the Class of 2006. She was most recently completing her second semester at California State University,Long Beach, pursuing a nursing career. Kathryn was a gorgeous and loving daughter,sister, granddaughter, neice, cousin and friend to many.She loved dancing, singing, traveling and enjoying life! She will be so very missed and loved always. Though her eyes were gently closed by God, our eyes have not ceased to cry. Kathryn is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Mary; brother, Andrew; sister, Cassandra; grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Gardia, and Elizabeth and Rick Alvarez,many loving aunts,uncles,cousins and wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Autism Society of America or One Legacy for organ donations. Services for Kathryn were held March 12, 2007,with a Catholic Mass at St.Pancratius Church in Lakewood,Ca. followed by internment at All Souls Cemetery. One day, we hope to see Kathryn with God in his Heaven.... His 'Teen Angel'....

Update: The State of California filed a suit against the driver who was found negligent of a misdemeanor!He served 4 months in jail and had 3 years probation.
