Marcella worked as a secretary for her husband's law practice, Cottrell Law Firm, for 40 years and also as a homemaker. She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES during World War II. Marcella was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Genoa, a life member of Christ United Methodist Church in Oregon, Order of Eastern Stars - Gertrude Chapter, and the W.B.C.C.I. Airstream Travel Trailer Club. She was also an avid bowler and loved to play cards, especially euchre and pinochle.
Marcella is survived by her son, Stephen Cottrell of Perrysburg, OH; daughter, Marianne Ferrara of Rossford, OH; daughter, Marla (Kerry) Weaver of Northwood, OH; son, Ernest (Jean) Cottrell, Jr. of Curtice, OH, sister, Margaret McCormick of Sun City, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and sister, Elizabeth Frank.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. An Order of Eastern Star Service will he held at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in St. John's United Church of Christ, Genoa, with additional visitation prior to the services from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston with military graveside services conducted by the Genoa American Legion. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's United Church of Christ, Genoa, the Genoa Retirement Village, or the Genoa Senior Center.
