A retired fabrication superintendent for Evan Hall Sugar Corp. for 35 years and owner of Carbo's Apartments, he died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, July 26, 1996, in Baton Rouge. He was 85, a resident and native of Donaldsonville. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10:45 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Randy Cuevas. Entombment in Ascension Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Alma Dugas Carbo, Donaldsonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Bennie Benoit, Zachary; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Jr. and Georgette Carbo, Lafayette; two sisters, Ruth Fos, Chalmette, and Dorothy Delatte, Donaldsonville; a brother, Lloyd Carbo Sr., Donaldsonville; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Nicholas Sr. and Louise Dugas Carbo; two sisters, Bessie LeBlanc and Thelma Carbo; and four brothers, Joe, Herman, Nicholas Jr. and Ervin Carbo. Pallbearers will be grandsons and a granddaughter, Glen, Kirk, Kerry and Wynn Carbo, Brent and Corey Benoit and Dana B. Haynes. Honorary pallbearers are Sidney Dugas, Robert LeBlanc and Patrick Arcement. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1087,fourth degree knight of Monsignor Robin Assembly and member of Ascension Catholic Church Usher Society for 50 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ascension Catholic Church Preservation Fund, P.O. Box 508, Donaldsonville, 70346.
