Life Story of Mrs John M Wilwerding, 77

Martha Appel, daughter of Valentine and Catherine Appel was born September 5, 1879 at Quincy, Ill. and died October 4, 1956 at the Myrtue Memorial hospital in Harlan at the age of 77 years and 29 days.

She married John F WIlwerding January 31, 1899 and lived on a farm in the Earling vicinity. To this union 10 children were born.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by six daughters, Lena (Mrs Rudy Zimmerman), of Defiance, Sr M Adelviv OSF of Milwaukee; Regina (Mrs Bill Kobold) of Dunlap; Viola (Mrs Joe Fohrman) of Rochester, Minn; Elvira, (Mrs Edward Zimmerman) of Buck Grove; and Mathilda (Mrs Oscar Bauman) of Harlan; three sons, Peter of Earling; Carl of Logan and Henry at home. Her husband and one daughter, Sr M Misana, OSF, preceded her in death.

Services were held at St Joseph's church in Earling Monday October 8, 1956, with a Solemn Requiem High Mass, the Rt Rev P A Bissen the Celebrant, Rev Jerome Schnitker, Decon and Rev Albert Wilwerding Sub Decon and Rev Raynolds of Logan the Master of Ceremonies.

Burial was in St Joseph's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Ivo Wilwerding, Urban Zimmerman, Julius Zimmerman, John Wilwerding, Ivo Kobolt, and Richard Wilwerding.
