Rockwell Gray, 81, of Narrow Lane, treasurer of Brown & Sharpe before retiring in 1976, died May 22 at South County Hospital.
He was the husband of Alice (Mays) Gray.
Born in Muskegon, Mich., a son of the late Curtis R. and Dorothy (Wood) Gray, he lived in North Kingstown for 20 years.
Mr. Gray was a 1934 graduate of Brown University.
He was associated with Brown & Sharpe for more than 35 years, and was elected treasurer in 1968, a post he held until retiring.
He was a member of the Society of Colonial Wars, the Audubon Society, the Potowomut Country Club, the Coral Beach Club, and the Lantana Colony Club in Bermuda. He was a former member of the Hope Club and the Providence Art Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, a stepdaughter, three stepsons, and two grandchildren.
