James had been a resident of the area twenty eight years coming from County Club Hills, IL. He was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and the American Legion. During his working career he worked for the Ford Motor Company and after retiring to the area he worked at Silver Dollar City as a toy maker. He served his country in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Adam.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-one years, Nancy Adam of Kimberling City, MO; a son, John Adam of Lemont, IL; a daughter, April Lister of Kimberling City, MO; a sister, Janet Bernard of Lansing, IL; four grandchildren, David, Deanna, Emma and Katie and a host of other family and friends.
