He was born June 4, 1951 in Washington, DC, the son of the late James and Clara Callander Allison.
He was of the Protestant faith. On March 26, 1971, he married Carol Mothershead of Colonial Beach, VA. Gary was a Vietnam veteran and private pilot. He enjoyed playing the guitar, boating and motorcycles. He had an adventurous spirit and always followed his dreams.
Gary is survived by his five children, Mickie Allison-Hutcherson of Big Bear, CA; James Allison of Stafford, VA; Forrest Allison of Stafford, VA; Holly Mills of King George, VA; and Dustin Allison of Colonial Beach, VA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother James (Dave) Allison of Easthampton, MA; and his sister Denise Ciotti of Harpers Ferry, WV.
Services with military honors will be conducted at Quantico National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017.
