Mrs. Farr was one of the most well beloved and highly respected women of Thomson. She was an active and devout member of the Sharon Baptist church, and was Interested in both the Sunday school and Missionary society.
In her home life, she was a wise and loving mother, and a good wife. She was popular with both young and old, and her home was the scene of many a delightful gathering.
She was of a Christian character and a charitable nature, and her charm and graciousness of manner made for her many friends and admirers.
Besides her husband, survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. W. R. Story of Appling, Ga., Mrs. J. B. Vaughn of Leesburg, Fla., Mrs. Welcome English of Warrenton, Ga., and Miss Margaret Farr, Miss Theo Farr and Miss Martha Farr, all of Thomson, and Mrs. Robert McNair of Harlem, Ga.; eight sons, J. B. Farr, J. R. Farr Jr., Howard Farr, R. J. Farr, Jack Farr, James O. Farr, and Edward Farr all of Thomson, and B. W. Farr of Augusta; three sisters, Mrs. A. L. Williams of Grovetown, Ga., Mrs. S. H. Bascom of Augusta, and Miss Ida Marshall of Appling, Ga.; two brothers, J. O. Marshall of Clarks Hill S. C., and J. H. Marshall of Evans, Ga.; and several grandchildren.
