Florence Anderson, 95, of West Union, Iowa died Monday, July 24, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, West Union, Iowa.
Florence was born to Charles Chester and Elsie Bertina (Peterson) Frisbie on July 21, 1922 in Huntington Beach, California. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Calmar, Iowa. Florence graduated from Calmar High School in 1940.
Florence was united in marriage with Kenneth Arthur Anderson in 1943.
Florence became a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and was a member there for over 50 years.
She was a mother and homemaker and also worked for Cozy Tea Room in Decorah, Bemiss Bakery at Cuddy’s Boot Hill Supper Club in West Union, and at the Lilac Motel in West Union.
Florence always enjoyed various craft projects and did a lot of work with plastic canvas projects which she shared with others. Florence also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was an accomplished Upwards player.
Florence is survived by her two daughters, Sheila (Reed) Newstrom of West Union, Iowa and Marcia (Clyde) LaBarge of Salisbury, Maryland; six grandchildren, Christi-An (John) Miceli of Waukee, Iowa, Wendy (Joshua) Wedo of Elgin, Iowa, Timothy (Amanda) Streif of Wadena, Iowa, Christian (Tanya) Kapler of Oelwein, Iowa, Heather (Joe) Frieden of Sheldon, Iowa and Paula (Dustin Christiansen) Streif of Salisbury, Maryland; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one nephew, Rusty Moen.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1989; her parents, Charles and Elsie Frisbie; and one brother, Harold Frisbie.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, Iowa with Pastor Don Best as the Officiant. There will be a two hour visitation from 9-11 am before services at the church on Saturday.
Burial will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Gods Acres, Clermont, Iowa.
