Born in Tucson, Neal's family moved to Santa Barbara when he was a high school sophomore. He received a BA in Economics from UC-Santa Barbara and an MBA from UC-Berkeley. He served as an Army Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. A CPA, Neal was a member of the AICPA and the California CPA Society. At the time of his passing, Neal was Chairman and President of the company he founded, AeroCentury Corp.
