Mary Glyn Bettes went to be with her Lord on July 19, 2017. She was born on November 28, 1929 in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents Velma and L. C. McEachern. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Cecil D. Bettes, who passed away only 24 days prior. She is survived by her two children, Janice Carlisle, Paul Bettes and wife Judy; two grandchildren, Bryan Carlisle and wife Dayren, Amber Carlisle; five great grandchildren, Brett Carlisle, Brandon Carlisle, Brody Carlisle, Carsen Potier, Harper Potier; four siblings, Fay Nell Norwood, Maudie Owens and husband Jack, Nora Kate Heath, Malcolm R. McEachern and wife Sandy as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special thank you to the wonderful team of Silverado Hospice, who so lovingly cared for Mary and Cecil in their final days. And immense gratitude to Girlie Franklin for her loving care for so many years. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, July 24, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM; with a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
