"Mertz, Lois R. age 88, of Canton passed away Tues. afternoon in Aultman Hospital. Born in Altman, OH, a daughter of the late Perry and Emma Grabill Graber, she had been a Canton resident all her life. Lois was a 1938 graduate of McKinley High School. She retired in 1985 from the Hoover Co. after over 20 years service where she had worked in the office and also in the main factory and at the Industrial Park where she had been an inspector. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mertz, Sr., on Sept. 16, 1989. Survived by two daughters... two sons and a daughter-in-law... and two grandchildren... A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tues. at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Albright as Celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Mon. from 6-8 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Mertz's memory may be made to either the Jackson Township Fire Dept., 7383 Fulton Dr. NW, Massillon, OH 44646, or the Assistance Dogs Program of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, 408 9th St. SW, Canton, OH 44707."
