FORMER RESIDENT OF DAVENPORT SUFFERS STROKE MONDAY EVENING
Bert A. Hartmann, 1301 Ringwood Place, Clinton, Iowa, former resident of Davenport, died suddenly at Sterling, Illinois, about 6 o'clock last evening. He had gone to Sterling to bring a passenger bus of the Bus & Freight company with whom he was connected, back to Clinton. He took sick and died suddenly while being rushed to a hospital.
Mr. Hartman was born March 15, 1892 at Morrison, Illinois. He came to Davenport when nine years of age with his parents, received his education here and was united in marriage to Miss Mary Wahl of Davenport in December, 1916, by the Rev. Leroy M Coffman. After their marriage the couple moved to Louistown, Montana, where the resided three years. they then returned to Davenport where they resided until five years ago, at which time he became connected with the Nash Bus Company of Clinton.
Surviving are his widow, father H. W. Hartman, Davenport; two brothers, Roy, Chicago, and William, Davenport; three sisters, Mrs. Sam White, Chicago, Mrs. Walter Benkert, Hawarden, Iowa, and Mrs. Frederick Kent, Iowa City, Iowa; and niece, Mrs. Walter LeBold, Davenport.
His mother preceded him in death in May 1926.
The body will be brought to Davenport for funeral services and burial Thursday. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
