Life-Long Resident And Old Soldier Dies
With the death at 2 o'clock Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. S. Haver, Wadsworth, O., Painesville lost one of her life-long residents. The funeral service will be held from the home of Mrs. C. R. H. Stickney, stop 78, C. P. & E., Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the G. A. R. members who will conduct the services at the grave will meet at their hall at 1:30.
With the exception of an attack of grip during the winter, Mr. Goldsmith had been in his usual health until four days ago when he was compelled to take to his bed. He failed rapidly and death resulted from an attack of heart failure. Mr. Goldsmith would have been 76 years of age had he lived until May 18, 1911. He was a member of Dyer Post, G. A. R. of this city and during the Civil War he was with the Sixth O. V. I. for three years and then re-enlisted as a veteran.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. E. S. Haver, Wadsworth, O.; and Mrs. John S. Adair, Clovis, N.M.; and one brother, Delos Goldsmith, of Oakland, Calif.
