Cynthia L. Edwards, 60, of Parsons passed away at 9:02 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the emergency room at Labette Health.
She was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Independence to Alfred Edwards and Martha Mack. As a young girl, she grew up in Parsons, where she graduated from Parsons High School.
After high school, Cynthia worked in Parsons at various restaurants and the Canterbury Inn before moving to Topeka. While living in Topeka, she worked at restaurants before returning to Parsons, where she worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
Cynthia enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends and cooking.
Survivors include her mother, Martha Mack of Parsons; a son, Charles Edwards of Parsons; a daughter, Carlotta Edwards of Parsons; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and one on the way; a sister, Carol Griffin of Kansas City, Kansas; and a stepsister, Sandra Kelly of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Parsons, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
